This is a Drawing. It was created by Jan van der Straet, called Stradanus and manufactured by Philips Galle and engraved by Cornelis Galle I and published by Theodor Galle. It is dated ca. 1580-1605 and we acquired it in 1947. Its medium is recto: pen and brown ink, brush and brown wash over black chalk on laid paper verso: pen and brown ink, brush and brown and black washes over black chalk on laid paper . It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.
